Reading Entry Level 1

Motivational, reading tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional English tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students. Knowledge about each workplace builds cumulatively as students progress through the levels.

Tasks at Entry Level 1 include reading labels, notices and posters, understanding signs and the purpose of texts. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.

The clear layout and simple language at Entry Level 1 makes this resource ideal for students with a variety of special educational needs.
