Speaking and listening Level 2

Motivational, functional speaking and listening tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional English tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students.

The book comes with a multimedia CDROM – an ideal platform for teaching and rehearsing speaking and listening skills. The activities in the book include structured role-play activities for paired and group work as well as scripts of the tasks on the CD.

Tasks at Level 2 include following discussions, following multi-step instructions, using techniques to move a discussion forward, recognising open questions, taking notes from long explanations and using appropriate non-verbal communication. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.
