Number Entry Level 1

Motivational, functional number tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional Maths tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students. Knowledge about each workplace and confidence with number builds cumulatively as students progress through the levels.

Tasks at Entry Level 1 include adding numbers up to 10, recognising odd and even numbers, putting numbers in order, counting forwards and backwards and subtracting numbers from 10. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.

The clear layout and simple language at Entry Level 1 makes this resource ideal for students with a variety of special educational needs.
