Number Entry Level 2

Motivational, functional number tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional Maths tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students. Knowledge about each workplace and confidence with number builds cumulatively as students progress through the levels.

Tasks at Entry Level 2 include counting in tens and twos, doing a stock take, reading numbers up to 100 written in words, multiplying, recognising maths symbols and definitions, telling the time and using mental arithmetic. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.

The clear layout and simple language at Entry Level 2 makes this resource ideal for students with a variety of special educational needs.
