Number Entry Level 3

Motivational, functional number tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional Maths tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students. Knowledge about each workplace and confidence with number builds cumulatively as students progress through the levels.

Tasks at Entry Level 3 include calculating best buys, calculating mileage/expenses, counting in batches, multiplying and dividing numbers, understanding decimals and fractions and writing cheques. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.
