Measures shape and space Entry Level 3

Motivational, functional measure shape and space tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional Maths tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students. Knowledge about each workplace and confidence with measure shape and space builds cumulatively as students progress through the levels.

Tasks at Entry Level 3 include adding and subtracting money, checking bank statements and payslips, finding lines of symmetry, identifying right angles, reading a thermometer, solving problems with 3D shapes and telling the time. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.
