Handling data Entry Level 3

Motivational, functional data handling tasks set in workplace contexts. All the Functional Maths tasks in this resource are set in three workplaces – a hotel, a supermarket and a factory. This helps make the activities both real and relevant to students. Knowledge about each workplace and confidence with handling data builds cumulatively as students progress through the levels.

Tasks at Entry Level 3 include extracting data from lists, bar charts, diagrams, pictograms and tables, following directions on a map, recording data using a tally, using a scale. A student checklist, comprehensive teaching notes and answers are included as well as overhead transparency templates for group work.
